Dodik: Patriarch should continue and ensure unity of the Church and good cooperation with the state

The Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, stressed that the Serb people and the Serb states have a new patriarch who should continue and ensure the unity of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) and good cooperation with the state, while he felt especially honored to attend the enthronement of the 46th Serbian patriarch, Porfirije.
"I expect that Patriarch Porfirije will ensure good cooperation between the Church and the states of Serbia and the Serb Republic," Dodik stressed.
In the new patriarch, we have the capacity to make that happen, said Dodik and added:
"It's important that the Serbian Orthodox Church has elected a new patriarch in a calm manner, it was efficient, with the bishops demonstrating unity," Dodik assessed and congratulated the Serbian Orthodox Church on a job well done.
After leaving the Patriarchate in Belgrade, where Patriarch Porfirije and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic went after the enthronement ceremony, Dodik told reporters that he had made himself available to the new head of the Serbian Orthodox Church to help him within his abilities, as well as to ensure they are sending joint messages.
According to Dodik, those messages should be aimed at preserving peace, unity, the need for development...
