Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel, whom President Aleksandar Vucic decorated with the Order of the Republic of Serbia, officially received the accolade on Thursday.

Since Bettel was prevented from traveling to Serbia, the order was presented to him by Serbia's Ambassador to Belgium Marina Jovicevic.

"This is a very important recognition for me, since we mark both the good and the difficult moments together, because we trust each other. I want to thank first of all the president of Serbia, then the prime minister for the friendship that is most important for building good relations," Bettel said during the ceremony.

Last November 11, on Armistice Day, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic announced the names of recipients - prominent individuals and institutions who had exceptional merits and contributions in implementing activities to prevent the spread of the infectious disease Covid 19.
