Appointments of new Serbian ambassadors: Who will get the "ticket" to Beijing and 32 other cities

It's very important for us to have people in these key places who will be able to respond to the challenge of our time, who will know how to understand every move and every signal politically and people who will be ready to work 24 hours a day, seven days a week - said Nikola Selakovic

Out of 103 diplomatic and consular missions Serbia has around the world, as many as 32 are waiting for the appointment of their new heads, while Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic says it is of exceptional importance to find someone who will represent Serbia in Beijing on a high level.

"It's very important for us to have people in these key places who will be able to respond to the challenge of our time, who will know how to understand every move and every signal politically and people who will be ready to work 24 hours a day, seven days a week," Selakovic told RTS.

The foreign minister added that China is represented in Serbia by a serious and exceptional politician, Chen Bo, and that it is extremely important to find someone who will represent Serbia in Beijing at that level.

"We have an exceptional person from China here, in other words, an exceptional diplomat, a serious politician - Ms. Chen Bo. It's important to find someone who will be able to represent our interests at that level, and it's not an easy job, there aren't many such people," added Selakovic.

Appointments are not awaited only in bilateral diplomacy. Positions and heads of missions with multilateral organizations have also been vacant - above all in the United Nations.
