President Aleksandar Vucic said that the first quantities of at least two vaccines against coronavirus will arrive in Serbia before the New Year, and that it is possible that the vaccination will follow in January at the latest, and maybe before the end of 2020.

"We will have the first quantities of vaccines, at least two vaccines before the end of this year. Whether we will start vaccination at the end of this year or at the beginning of next, depends on the health authorities. I hope that there will be three vaccines," said the president.

He further stated that it is possible that, depending on the testing of vaccines, immunization will start in January of next year or before the end of this year, 2020.

"We expect to open a hospital in Krusevac in the next two or three days. This will contribute to further strengthening our capacities. These are very important things for our country," he said about the further fight against  the coronavirus epidemic.

"We have already ordered the Pfizer vaccine, along with two countries in Europe, we will be the only ones who will receive some quantities by the end of the year. We will receive most of these vaccines in January and February.

We spoke to all the partners. We will try to offer people in Serbia all kinds of vaccines, let them choose. I think that every vaccine is good," he added.

When asked by journalists, he said that he was not an expert or an epidemiologist, but that the numbers were visibly decreasing.

"The numbers are falling. Today they are better than the same day last week. There are significantly fewer people infected, but our hospitals are full," Vucic warned.
