All available police forces are searching for D.S. from Banja Luka on suspicion that he killed a monk in the Glogovac monastery, Father Stefan, Srpskainfo has learned.

A source from the Serb Republic (Republika Srpska, RS) Ministry of Interior said that the person in question is known to the police as a drug user.

"The police are still looking for the suspect, and more details will be known during the day," the Srpskainfo source added.

"Police officers of the Police Administration Mrkonjic Grad are actively searching for the perpetrator of a criminal act during which one person died from his injuries, and which was committed yesterday in the Glogovac monastery in Sipovo. It was reported to the Police Administration in Mrkonjic Grad yesterday, December 7, 2020 at around 6:55 pm, that an unknown had person inflicted life-threatening bodily injuries to the monk S.A. in Babici, Sipovo, in the Glogovac monastery," it has been announced.

"The injured person was transported by ambulance to the Healthcare Center, where he died of his injuries at 8:15 pm. On the scene, in the monastery of Glogovac, an investigation should begin, which is taking place under the supervision of the prosecutor of the District Public Prosecutor's Office of Banja Luka. Members of the Banja Luka Police Administration and the Criminal Police Directorate are also involved in the search for the person who committed the crime," a police statement said.

Father Stefan was found dead last night with multiple stab wounds to the body.

Due to severe injuries to his vital organs and bleeding, the monk died.

The police were soon alerted and the investigation revealed the identity of the suspect, who is still on the run.
