President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, commented on the failure of the Serbian national football team, which did not qualify for the EURO even after 20 years, since it lost to Scotland on penalties in the last game of qualifications.

And while he was talking about other topics, Vucic added a sentence that can be interpreted as a message about the failure of our footballers.

"You can see that we cannot even be among the (top) 24 countries when it comes to kicking the ball. We all know better, so we would have picked a better team and better players..." said Vucic, and then he specifically referred to the match itself and what the plan is when it comes to the role of the state in football and other sports.

"I watched it myself, I'm sorry, but I have some other news that will be good for some people. It's our job to change those things in the long term. Six years ago we had muddy pitches, now we have grass, we must build new stadiums, bring the audience to the stadiums, build a different and more serious organization, we must improve the profession, we must do a lot, but we will invest in infrastructure, which is crucial for the future," the president announced.

He also had good news for the so-called small sports and assistance of 8 million euros to athletics, wrestling, handball, water polo, basketball and volleyball.

"We will invest 8 million euros in the so-called small sports, from athletics to wrestling, but also handball, basketball, water polo and volleyball. Each club in the first and second leagues will receive a certain amount of money. For example, each handball club in the first league will receive 5 million dinars, which is not a small amount of money for them, everyone in the second league will receive one million dinars. When 1,300,000 euros pour into your handball clubs, it is a big injection, we will invest it these days, we will help because we believe that we can be successful in those sports."

"In volleyball, we have the best women's and one of the best men's national teams. In water polo, we are always the best in men's, we want to raise the women's sport, we want to help basketball, we will help with a large amount of money to Red Star and Partizan, in addition to this, we will see if it will be 500,000 or a million euros, since they play in Europe, so they can represent us as well as possible," concluded Vucic.
