The Covid hospital in Pozarevac is currently treating 99 patients with symptoms of coronavirus, 17 of whom are from Belgrade, and the rest from the Branicevo District.

Covid-19 infection has been confirmed in more than 60 of them, while test results are awaited for other patients, according to the Pozarevac hospital.

They point out that they had 22 examinations yesterday, of which 9 were new admissions for hospital treatment.

"Three patients are on a ventilator and five on non-invasive ventilation (NIV). About 60 of them receive additional oxygen. Severe forms of infection are becoming more common, so the general clinical picture of Covid patients is overall difficult," the hospital said.

As they add, to date, the infection has been confirmed in 54 workers at the General Hospital in Pozarevac, four of whom have been hospitalized and their health condition is stable.

"We have started control tests among healthcare workers whose period of isolation has expired, we expect a number of them to return to work."

"Due to the critical situation and the growing number of new patients in the Branicevo district, we appeal on the citizens to respect all prescribed and recommended protection measures," the director of the hospital, Dr. Danko Nikolic, said in a statement.
