The extradition request for David G. (26), a Serbian citizen accused in the German city of Hagen of stabbing his partner Violetta R. (38) to death, only one day after he was released from extradition detention, because a request for extradition, according to German media, was not delivered on time - was submitted to the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a timely manner, the Serbian Ministry of Justice told the daily Blic.

Five months after the horrific crime in Violetta's apartment in Hagen, the German Bild revealed new details related to David G. and the alleged administrative confusion due to which the man, who had been sentenced to 12 years in prison in Serbia, was released early in Germany, only to immediately commit the murder of his partner.

Namely, he was sentenced to prison in Serbia in 2018 for human trafficking, but he managed to escape to Germany, where he skillfully hid for two years, until the German police located and arrested him.

Their colleagues in Serbia were immediately informed about the arrest, and he was kept in extradition custody, where he was supposed to wait to be sent to Serbia.

Bild claims that the documents required for extradition were delayed, so he was released because he was allowed to spend a maximum of 40 days in extradition detention. The day after he was set free, he committed the murder in an apartment in Hagen, which was discovered by accident after the police came to arrest him.

The Serbian Ministry of Justice explained for Blic that Serbia submitted a request for extradition to the Federal Republic of Germany in a timely manner.

"A diplomatic path is applied between the two countries when submitting extradition documentation, and the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Berlin is on June 2, 2020 submitted a request for accompanying documentation translated into German to the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Please note that the request was sent by e-mail to the German MFA on May 28, 2020," said the response submitted by the Ministry.

The crime was discovered when police officers came to David G.'s address to collect him and found Violetta R's bloodied body instead. A few days later, David was located and arrested in an apartment in Iserlohn, and the police also found Violetta's three-year-old daughter with him.

It was determined that Violetta had more than 40 stab wounds on her body, and that the murder was probably committed in front of her daughter, whom David later took with him.
