The president of the provisional institutions in Pristina, Hashim Thaci, arrived at the EULEX headquarters in Kosovo, from where he will travel to The Hague today, Pristina media are reporting.

According to Koha, Thaci arrived at the EULEX headquarters in Kosovo Polje by car a few moments earlier.

Then, as Koha states, the car left, and Bekim Colaku, who was the head of Thaci's cabinet, was in it.

The Specialist prosecutor's Office in The Hague confirmed the indictment for war crimes against Hashim Thaci earlier today, who later in the day announced his resignation.

Previously, the Hague prosecution confirmed the indictment against Kadri Veseli, a close associate of Thaci, and the president of his party.

The two are charged with crimes against humanity and war crimes.

Veseli also at the EULEX mission, waiting to go to The Hague

The president of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Kadri Veseli, the former head of the secret service of the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), is already at the EULEX mission in Kosovo Polje and should be extradited to The Hague in the afternoon.

He came to the mission by himself, after it was announced that the Specialist Chambers had confirmed the indictment against him, reports the Pristina based Koha.

After Veseli, the former president of the temporary institutions in Pristina, Hashim Thaci, who previously announced that he had resigned, also arrived at the EULEX HQ.

The photos that appeared in the Pristina media show Thaci arriving by car at the EULEX mission headquarters.

In three days in front of judge

Lawyer accredited by the Specialized Chambers, Taulant Hodaj, stated today that after the confirmation of the indictments there are two procedures that the Specialized Chambers can follow - to arrest the accused or send a warrant, and that it depends on these two procedures when Thaci and Veseli will appear before the judge.

He said that according to procedures, if they are arrested, they must appear before the pre-trial judge within three days, while if that is stated in the warrant, they must appear within seven days, reports Klan Kosova.

"But as it seems that in this case, their first appearance before the pre-trial judge will be within three days," Hodaj said.
