Epidemiologist Dr. Predrag Kon was a guest on the morning program of TV Prva where he spoke about the current epidemiological situation, but also revealed his thoughts on the topic of the vaccine against coronavirus.

"For now, we really don't see any other way to seriously and actively stand up to the virus except with a vaccine. The vaccine will certainly arrive, there is no longer a dilemma about it, but the question is how effective it will be. By the way, efficiency and effectiveness are not the same. It is one thing whether it stimulates production of antibodies, it is another whether someone will get sick later or not. Time must pass for us to see," he pointed out.

Dr. Kon advises that we should be modest when it comes to expectations from the coronavirus vaccine.

"It cannot be expected to be effective, because it is 'dead' and it's known that cannot provide that level of protection. Still, it's enough to prevent all this dying and significantly slow down the virus, and that is the most important thing," he concluded.
