Drastic increase: 326 new Covid cases in Serbia in 24 hours, two more patients die
This is the latest cross-section of the coronavirus epidemic situation
Over the previous 24 hours, 7,242 people have been tested for coronavirus in Serbia, of which 326 were positive. Two people died.
There are 25 patients on ventilators.
So far, 780 people have died.
Relative to the number of people tested, 4.50 percent were infected.
So far, a total of 1,249,106 people have been tested, with 36,608 positives.
When it comes to new cases, Belgrade still leads with 155, followed by Kragujevac with 29, Kraljevo with 15, Nis and Novi Sad 11 each, Vranje 9, Valjevo and Prijepolje 7 each, Sabac and Prokuplje 6 each, Loznica 5, Pancevo 4, while other towns reported fewer infections.
Back in May, member of the Crisis HQ at the time Dr. Branislav Nestorovic said that if the percentage of those infected in relation to those tested was much higher and reached up to five percent, some restrictive measures could be reinstated.
"Above all, I mean the mandatory wearing of masks, and all those who do not wear them would pay money fines. Once again , the shutting down cafes, restaurant gardens and shopping malls would not be ruled out. We must be more responsible as a society, but also as individuals. Protective masks and gloves must be worn indoors, distance must be respected and we must continue to avoid those intimate Serbian ways of greeting each other, with hugs and kisses," Nestorovic concluded.
