Criminal group falls: They buried drugs in marked places for buyers to take and leave money
The suspects have been detained for up to 48 hours and will be brought before the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime along with a criminal complaint
The Service for the Fight against Organized Crime, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime arrested eight members of an organized crime group and seized a sizable quantity of narcotics.
In several separate operations, as well as during searches of eight apartments and four vehicles used by the suspects, the police found about 14 kilograms of amphetamines, about 1.7 kilograms of heroin, a small amount of cocaine and about three kilograms of drug fillers.
"About 28,000 euros were also seized, which are suspected to have come from the sale of drugs, as well as three motor vehicles," the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.
Due to suspicion that they committed criminal acts of association for the purpose of committing criminal acts and unauthorized production and distribution of narcotics, R.P. (34), D.B. (31), U.D. (33), N.P. (30), S.T. (22), J.R. (35), S.DJ. (50) and M.G. (40) have all been arrested.
They are suspected of selling heroin, amphetamines and cocaine in the territory of Belgrade and in other cities in Serbia, by burying the drugs in glass and plastic containers in pre-determined places, where customers picked them up and left the money.
The suspects have been detained for up to 48 hours and will be brought before the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime along with a criminal complaint.
