Vucic reacts to news that Melania and Donald Trump have coronavirus

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has reacted to the news that Melania and Donald Trump have coronavirus to wish them a speedy recovery.

"I hope for a fast recovery so that you can keep up the good work, and look forward to continuing our strong cooperation in making the world a better and safer place," said the message published by the president of Serbia on his official Twitter account.

US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania have have tested positive for coronavirus, following the news that one of his closest associates was infected.

Trump's doctor at the White House, Sean Conley, announced that the president will continue to perform his duties without any interference, after he learned that he was positive for Covid 19.

"The president and the first lady are well at the moment and plan to stay in the White House until they recover. The White House medical team and I will monitor them. I appreciate the support of our best healthcare people," Conley wrote, without saying what kind of support this was about.

"Rest assured that I expect the president to continue to perform his duties without hindrance while he is recovering, and I will inform you about further developments," he added.

Hope Hicks is Trump's close associate, and as the BBC reports, she traveled with the president several times, including to the first debate with Joe Biden in Cleveland. She was filmed coming out of the plane without a mask.

She also traveled with Trump by helicopter to a rally in Minnesota.
