Special units block Pristina ahead of Richard Grenell's arrival because of suspicious package
A police statement added that a part of the street was closed to traffic and would be reopened after a detailed search of the scene
One of the main streets in Pristina, named after former US President Bill Clinton, was blocked after the police got tipped off that a suspicious suitcase was found there, Koha reported a few hours before the arrival of the US president's special envoy Richard Grenell.
"At around 10:30 we received information that there was a suspicious suitcase in Bill Clinton Street. Kosovo police teams are at the scene," the so-called Kosovo police announced.
The statement added that a part of the street was closed to traffic and would be reopened after a detailed search of the scene.
President Trump's special envoy for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina Richard Grenell will personally monitor the implementation of the agreement signed in Washington, which the public in Kosovo considers disastrous for the provisional Albanian government in the southern Serbian province.
According to earlier announcements, US officials, including head people of the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), but also the special representative for negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina, Richard Grenell, should meet with Prime Minister of the Provisional Institutions of Pristina Avdullah Hoti at 6:30 pm.
