4,000 Serbian flags on display in Belgrade on Serb Unity Day: Deputy Mayor Vesic speaks

Today, Serbia and the Serb Republic (RS) are celebrating a joint holiday for the first time - Day of Serb Unity, Freedom and the National Flag

On the occasion of Serb Unity Day, Deputy Mayor of Belgrade Goran Vesic posted on Facebook to congratulated the holiday with grandiose photos of our capital.

"Happy Serb Unity Day! Today, the Serbian flag is proudly flown throughout Serbia and the RS. Fortunately for the majority of citizens of Serbia and the RS," he wrote.

Today, Serbia and the Serb Republic (RS) are celebrating a joint holiday for the first time - Day of Serb Unity, Freedom and the National Flag.

In all municipalities in Serbia and the RS (the Serb entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina) squares and central streets are decorated with National and State flags of the Republic of Serbia.

This holiday will be jointly celebrated in Serbia and the RS and in all areas where Serbs live around the world, symbolizing unity of the Serb people.

September 15 was chosen because on that day in 1918, the breakthrough of the Macedonian (Salonica) front took place.
