Is it harder to implement obligatory measure to wear a mask, or bury Covid-19 victims every day?

As he says, together we can prevent the emergence of a new devastating spike in coronavirus cases

The coronavirus epidemic has subsided, and people are returning to their usual habits. Some forget to put on a mask, some dream about taking a new trip, others miss partying.

And doctors, those who have spent months in endless shifts, hazmat suits, who still vividly remember crowded intensive care rooms - they all fear a new wave, black reports, a system on the brink of collapse.

Dr. Predrag Kon also warned about this danger.

"We need to decide... Are mass celebrations more important to us or should we keep the epidemic under control together... Is it more important that wedding organizers, musicians, wedding dress shops work successfully, that sports fans attend matches, are mass gatherings and various events that we love and enjoy more important to us than people's lives and the protection of the healthcare system of Serbia?," Kon wondered.

As people are relaxing again due to a smaller number of newly registered cases, Kon mentioned travel, business events, removing of masks...

"Are trips more important to us than health safety? Is it and when is it pointless to take risks because of gatherings that today can be organized safely and cheaper online with a little more effort (congresses, conferences)? Are we able to adapt even more as a society, for the state to help those it has not helped yet, who objectively cannot work because of the epidemic? We need to decide whether it is more difficult to implement the measures of obligatory wearing of masks or to be burying those deceased from COVID-19 every day," wrote Kon.

As he says, together we can prevent the emergence of a new devastating spike in coronavirus cases.

"And together we could, with much more understanding and solidarity, prevent the destructiveness of another wave, peak, increase by strictly implementing the measures. Let's at least significantly weaken it... It truly depends on all of us. And that will not be solved by individuals, the government, the president... Everyone is in a position only to show the way, seek and find a way out, while the result comes only with understanding and solidarity," he concluded.
