Coronavirus not letting up in region: Slovenia has most new cases in 5 months, 40 die in Romania
The numbers show that we are still far from relaxing
Coronavirus continues to plague the region, meaning that although there has been a small drop in the number of new cases for a few days, today the situation is completely different.
Croatia
In the last 24 hours, there have been 311 new recorded cases of coronavirus while four more patients died from the consequences of Covid-19 in Croatia.
As announced at a press conference, the virus is currently active in 2,566 people, and since the beginning of the epidemic, 10,725 cases have been registered.
A total of 175,346 people have been tested since the beginning of the epidemic, 4,122 in the past 24 hours.
A total of 258 people are now hospitalized, while 14 are on ventilators.
7,968 people have recovered.
Four more have died, bringing the death toll since the beginning of the epidemic to 191.
Two men died in Split along with one woman born in 1937, also in Split, and one more in the Dubrava hospital.
It has been stated that they all had chronic diseases.
New measures have been introduced in Pozega-Slavonia District - weddings and private gatherings are limited, said the head of the National HQ and cabinet minister Davor Bozinovic.
Bosnia and Herzegovina
In Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), 284 more cases of coronavirus infection and seven more deaths were confirmed today.
Of this number, there have been 238 new cases and four deaths in the Federation of BiH (FBiH) entity, and 43 newly infected persons and three deaths in the Serb Republic (RS) entity.
In the previous 24 hours, 2,048 persons have been tested in BiH.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 190,763 samples have been tested while coronavirus has been confirmed in 20,518 cases.
A total of 627 people died, while 13,626 recovered.
According to the Federal Institute of Public Health, 1,473 samples were tested in the past 24 hours.
New cases have been registered in all cantons/districts, except in Bosansko Podrinje.
121,944 samples have been tested in FBiH so far, while Covid-19 has been confirmed in 12,722 people.
As of today, 8,925 patients in FBiH have recovered - 127 in the past 24 hours.
There are currently 3,442 active cases of Covid-19.
The total number of deaths in FBiH so far has been 355, of which 233 are males and 122 females.
So far, 289 cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in the Brcko District, and 18 people have died there since the beginning of the epidemic.
Slovenia
According to the Slovenian authorities, 55 new cases of coronavirus have been registered in the last 24 hours, which is the largest daily increase during the past five months. One more person has died as a result of the Covid-19 disease.
Since yesterday, 1,608 people have been tested, the STA agency is reporting.
The number of hospitalized patients has increased by 26, while two patients got released from the hospital yesterday.
Four patients are being treated in intensive care, one more than yesterday.
In Slovenia, a total of almost 3,000 people have been infected, while 134 died so far.
Hungary
In Hungary, there have been 365 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in the last 24 hours, with three more people dying, according to the government's website monitoring the epidemic.
There are currently 2,100 active cases in that country, and 11,485 people are quarantining at home, MTI reports.
Since the beginning of the epidemic in Hungary, a total of 6,622 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed, while 619 people have died.
Romania
Since the previous report, Romania has had 1,298 new cases of coronavirus while 40 more people have died, the crisis HQ in that country has announced.
According to a statement, 26,543 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, reports Agerpres.
There have been 89,891 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Romania since the beginning of th epidemic, with the death toll now reaching 3,721.
Bulgaria
Bulgaria is reporting 188 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in the last 24 hours, with 13 more people dying, said the government's website monitoring the epidemic.
As stated, 6,784 samples have been tested in that period.
There are currently 4,197 active cases in Bulgaria, BTA reports.
In that country, 16,454 people have been infected since the beginning of the epidemic, of which 642 have died.
