Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) beat Tirana FC 1-0 in Albania last night to reache the 3rd round of UEFA Chamoions League with great difficulty. There, the Serbian club will have the status of the seed in the draw, and is waiting for, conditionally speaking, easier rivals, and it has an open path to the Champions League playoffs.

In addition to passing to the 3rd round, Red Star reaped multiple benefits from the victory in Tirana.

For this triumph, Red Star collected 380,000 euros from UEFA - the money given to clubs making it out of he 2nd round of qualifications for the Champions League.

Also, Red Star won another half point UEFA club coefficient, so that will amount to 25,000 points after this match.

On top of all that, we should not forget the contribution to Serbian football, because Red Star's triumph over Tirana FC improved the national coefficient by 375 points, and as long as our clubs remain in the game for European competitions group stages, there will be a chance that they can reach 15th spot on the national coefficient list by the end of the season.

That would mean allowing two teams from our country to take part in the qualifications for the Champions League, as well as participate  in Europa League.

Serbia is currently in the 16th place in the national coefficient table, and after the triumph of Red Star in Tirana, Serbia has exactly 22,000 points, so Denmark and Cyprus, which are in the 14th and 15th place, are ahead by 1,750 points.
