Dr. Darija Kisic Tepavcevic remarked this morning, when asked for how long we will wear masks and how long the current measures will be in place, that what she is saying is very unpopular.

"For how long? Well, until further notice! I am aware that what I'm saying is very unpopular... Nightclubs are a hotbed of infection...," the deputy director of Batut told the morning program on Pink TV, noting that as soon as we relax a little, the coronavirus numbers start to grow, writes Kurir.

"As a student and during my specialist studies, I looked at photos from 1918, from the time of the Spanish flu, where people would watch a game in the stands and wear masks, even then...," she said, noting that the mask is an old and well-known measure.

She added that she has not seen such activity of a virus yet, as summer and high air temperatures do not affect it, although the expectation was different.

"Summer is the season of intestinal, not viral infections, the season of food poisoning, it's very unusual for a respiratory virus to behave like this in the middle of summer," she explained.

She added that it is in human nature to be selfish and think that we have it the worst and the hardest, but added that this is not the case, and that we must wear masks until further notice because masks and keeping physical distance have proved to be the best measure and prevention.
