Traffic was suspended this morning on the Mladenovac-Mali Pozarevac road near Vlaska due to a traffic accident, i.e., a pileup, the Public Company Putevi Srbije (Roads of Serbia) has announced. The accident happened at around half past 7 this morning. Six people have been injured.

The driver of one passenger vehicle received the most serious injuries, RTS has learned.

One truck was completely crushed, and it is assumed that it drove off the road and hit a barrier. A truck, a passenger vehicle and a van collided with another vehicle.

Traffic on that part of the road has been suspended with buses headed to Belgrade going through Sopot and Ralja.

Dr. Predrag Nikodijevic, the head of the Emergency Service in Mladenovac, told RTS that six people were injured.

"We sent two teams from the shift and informed firefighters. At the scene, we found four injured people asking for help. One was stuck in a vehicle, so we additionally called in the firefighters to evacuate him from the vehicle," the daily Blic was told by the local medical emergency service, who added that those injured have been transported to the Military Medical Academy (VMA) in Belgrade.

Firefighters had trouble pulling the driver who was stuck out of the crushed car. He has severe injuries to his arms and legs.
