Hospitality industry prices rise: Statistics say, mostly food and drinks in restaurants and cafes

Prices of hospitality industry services increased by a total of 3.1 percent during the year.

Compared to the previous month, according to the data of the Serbian Statistical Office, prices are higher by only 0.1 percent.

Compared to July last year, prices of stewed dishes and salads increased the most in restaurants - 5 percent each.

Ready meals cost 3.9 percent more, and food in total - 3.7 percent.

Accommodation prices have increased the least - only 0.1 percent in a year.

Observed at the level of groups of products and services, price growth was recorded in the groups restaurants and hotels, food and non-alcoholic beverages, recreation and culture, apparel and footwear, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco and health.

In May 2020, compared to April 2020, prices of hospitality services increased by 1.8 percent on average. Prices have increased on average for all groups of these services.
