Professor Petar Kocovic, who predicted the end of the second wave of the epidemic in Serbia for September 9, using a mathematical model unique in the world to monitor the coronavirus pandemic, now has a new forecast.

The latest one from Professor Kocovic and his team is not so optimistic, but shows that this virus surge should be over on September 19.

His team is composed of mathematicians and programmers who monitor the situation on a daily basis in all 216 countries.

They use the so-called Gaussian curve that moves on a daily basis. The methodology is based on multiple waves.

"We used the data of the Ministry of Health and the Batut Institute for Serbia, and from the WHO (World Health Organization) for the rest of the world," Professor Kocovic explained earlier.

Therefore, if mathematics is to be believed, we can expect the epidemic of coronavirus to let up only in about two months' time.

Only 24 hours earlier, the professor estimated that the end would be on September 21.

It is interesting that, unlike our epidemiologists, he called the second surge of coronavirus a second wave, rather than a new peak. And that was back in June, when the numbers of newly infected people started to increase slightly.

On July 20, the professor predicted the end of this wave, as he called it, for September 9.
