Serbian president attended military parade in Moscow: He was welcomed by Vladimir Putin
The president of Serbia was on a two-day visit to Russia, during which he met with President Vladimir Putin
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic attended the military parade which was being held today in Moscow, on the occasion of marking the 75th anniversary of victory over fascism in the Second World War.
He was welcomed by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, with whom he had a meeting yesterday.
As the bells from the Spasskaya Tower marked the beginning of the parade, Putin gave a speech in front of those gathered in Red Square, and during the address, President Vucic stood right behind the Russian leader.
Upon his arrival in Moscow, the president of Serbia noted that members of the Serbian Army will also participate in the parade.
"We will be proud when the guys with the Serbian flag march in Moscow," Vucic underlined.
He saluted members of the Serbian Army Guards as they marched past him in Red Square today by symbolically thumping his chest.
The parade in Moscow was also attended Serbian Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin, who pointed out that members of the Serbian Army's Guard will show what descendants of Second World War winners look like, once again demonstrate that the Serbs are a people who value freedom above all, have always been on the right side of the world, and have always been a people who unmistakably choose freedom and victory.
The commander of the Guard Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Dragan Jakovljevic, headed the Guard echelon at the parade in Moscow.
When it comes to officials from the Western Balkans, in addition to the president of Serbia, the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, is also in Moscow today.
15,000 soldiers are marching today in Red Square, including parade units from Serbia, Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, India... A record number of military units and equipment is being shown at the parade - 234 units, 80 planes and helicopters.
