"This is the future of Serbia": Vucic visits the Center for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence

The tour started at 10 am, and the president of Serbia had the opportunity to talk to a robot called Ema

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic visited the exhibition space of the Center for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Teacher Education of the University of Belgrade. Minister of Education Mladen Sarcevic, Minister of Innovation and Technological Development Nenad Popovic, and the Ambassador of China to Serbia Chen Bo also toured the facility along with the president.

After the visit, the president addressed those present.

"This is the future of Serbia. We have about 800 million euros of (budget) surplus due to exports of software products," he explained.

Vucic pointed out that everything he saw today influences, in the best possible way, the teaching process in Serbia and expressed hope that we will be able to become one of the best countries in the digital sphere.

"Although I am a man who knows little about all the things we saw today, we understood well that this is the Serbian future," said Vucic.

"Everything we have been able to see today was almost surreal, or at least we thought that this was not possible in Serbia, but now we see that it is," said Vucic.

The president of Serbia had the opportunity to talk to a robot called Ema.

When Vucic asked why Ema came to Serbia, the robot, powered by advanced artificial intelligence, answered:

"Of course I came, I love Serbia. This is a country with beautiful nature and people and has a future ahead of it to develop robotic disciplines. I am sure that you will become one of the most advanced countries in the world."

Vucic also reviewed other projects that were presented in the exhibition space of the Center and learned about the robotics curriculum, as well as about the concept of the smart classroom.

This center is a joint venture of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and the company NetDragon Websoft Holdings Limited and is part of the strategic development program of Serbia, which recognizes the importance and advantages of innovation knowledge and the internet.

The ceremonial opening of the center is planned for the first half of July, when Chinese partners will come to Belgrade.
