Faculty of Medicine experts calculate when the last coronavirus case will happen in Serbia

The last case of a coronavirus infection in Serbia should be recorded at the end of June, according to a calculation made by epidemiologists from the Faculty of Medicine.

Professor Tatjana Pekmezovic from the Faculty of Medicine specified that this should happen between June 20 and 25.

"In previous days, there have been more infected people, but that does not change the picture and the last registered case is expected between June 20 and 25," said Dr. Pekmezovic.

This is the latest calculation, while the previous one said that the end of the coronavirus epidemic in Serbia would happen around May 26.

New pockets of infection are currently being recorded in Serbia where a number of  new coronavirus patients have been registered, namely in Vranje, Leskovac, Zajecar and Smederevo.

In Serbia, this virus has been confirmed in 11,159 citizens, and it took 238 lives. So far, 217,856 people have been tested. In the last week, there had been no casualties during two 24-hour periods.
