Epidemiologist Predrag Kon has revealed the condition for ending the coronavirus epidemic in Serbia: to have 28 consecutive days without any new confirmed cases of Covid-19.

"We're entering the tenth week. It can happen that sporadic cases will appear over the next month. Until there are no cases for 28 consecutive days, we cannot say that we do not have an epidemic. The measures remain, but that is personal responsibility. These measures, might have seemed to be premature. We will see that this will go down further and will disappear completely. We will wait and see what happens over the summer," Dr. Kon said last last night, speaking for TV Pink.

An epidemic due to coronavirus was declared in Serbia on March 19. Earlier, Dr. Kon stated that an epidemic cannot be "signed off" in Serbia as long as a global pandemic, declared by the World Health Organization (WHO), is in force.

Coronavirus has been confirmed in 9,848 people in our country, and it took 206 lives so far.
