These are Serbia's "steely" towns where there has been only one, or none, coronavirus case
There are a total of 12 such towns
12 towns in Serbia have had only one infected coronavirus case, according to the latest table published on the site covid19.rs, which is regularly updated by the Batut Institute of Public Health of Serbia.
These are Ada, Backi Petrovac, Vitina, Djakovica, Kanjiza, Knic, Kucevo, Novi Knezevac, Obilic, Crna Trava, Coka and Strpce. However, some local governments say that they haven't had a single case, although it is officially claimed that such a person exists because of the registered place of residence, which has not been changed.
Among them is the municipality of Knic, and a similar situation occurred several days ago in Zitiste, when two people who were born there but have lived elsewhere for a long time got infected. The same situation is in Kucevo, the table shows one sick person, but that person does not actually live in Kucevo.
According to officials, Knic did everything that experts suggested from the beginning of the epidemic.
Through maximum information and education of citizens, the town has been able to suppress the spread of the virus even though they had a risky situation when those working abroad started returning.
The citizens of this municipality are extremely disciplined and respect all the prescribed measures, so there was no relaxing even though there were no infected persons.
A woman, originally from the village of Ljubic, which belongs to the municipality of Knic, did test positive for coronavirus, but her place of residence of many years has been Kragujevac.
Kosjeric and Tutin also resisted for a long time, but they eventually also reported coronavirus cases.
According to this table, there are now 12 infected poeople in Tutin.
After almost two months since the onset of coronavirus in Serbia, Kosjeric fell, too - in this municipality in the Zlatibor District, had the first Covid-19 at the end of April, a 33-year from the village of Musici.
There were 19 people in direct contact with him and everyone was ordered to isolate themselves. Six people were tested from that family and only one more tested positive. The infected man had mild symptoms.
