Pregnant woman from Kosovo dies from coronavirus, leaves behind two children

The 40-year-old woman also had neurological problems

A pregnant woman from the town of Djakovica in Kosovo who was infected with coronavirus passed away this morning at the Infectious Diseases Clinic in Pristina.

A 40-year-old woman also had neurological problems. She was 28 weeks pregnant, the Gazetta Express newspaper reported.

The news of the death of this patient was confirmed by the Kosovo Ministry of Health.

The pregnant woman died early this morning, they said.

"The Infectious Diseases Clinic of the University Clinical Center of Kosovo announced that a patient in the intensive care unit, V.P., a resident of Djakovica who was diagnosed with Covid-19 has died. The patient was pregnant and was treated at the intensive care unit since April 15," said the Ministry of Health.

The pregnant woman left behind two children.

"You are now a mother and a baby, two angels in paradise praying for us and protecting us. Don’t forget us," her husband wrote in a moving Facebook post.

This is the 13th coronavirus death at this Pristina clinic and the 16th death in Kosovo.

A total of 353 samples have been tested in the Molecular Microbiology Laboratory yesterday, with 37 coming back positive for coronavirus.

Yesterday 21 people were announced cured, so the total number of those who recovered in Kosovo is now 123.
