The National Theater in Belgrade has announced free streaming of its opera, ballet and drama performances, since they cannot be played in front of an audience, N1 reports.

In a message on social networks, the theater invited followers to write in what play they would like to see online.

The Serbian Ministry of Culture called on cultural institutions earlier to provide online content for citizens during the state of emergency and the coronavirus epidemic.

In order to facilitate access to cultural content, above all having in mind the unavailability of cultural institutions' programming activities and the ban on gathering indoors of more than 50 persons - including exhibitions, plays, forums, and other events - the Ministry of Culture and Information made a recommendation to cultural institutions to enable maximum availability of digital content to Serbian citizens, a statement said.
