The condition I.DJ. (43) from Backa Topola, the first person in Serbia to contract coronavirus, has improved slightly, Telegraf.rs was told by the Ministry of Health.

"Further intensive treatment continues, with the use of therapy and monitoring of his health condition," said competent ministry sources.

I.DJ. tested positive for COVID 19 on Friday, March 6. He was first admitted to the General Hospital in Subotica, but was transferred to the Clinical Center of Vojvodina in Novi Sad over the weekend due increases in his body temperature.

As Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar said at a news conference last Friday, the patient became infected in Hungary, where he was staying with his sister.

He reported to the doctor himself, and the test showed he had the novel virus.

All members of his family were also tested for COVID 19 and fortunately, their results came back negative.
