Djokovic: I am motivated to make 2020 the best of my career
The world's best tennis player wants to surpass all his results this year
Novak Djokovic, the world's best tennis player, said today that he is motivated and inspired to make 2020 the best year of his career, and that he is particularly hoping for a great performance at the Tokyo Olympics.
"I am motivated and inspired to have my best season this year. I'm aware that it's an Olympic year, which means that the schedule will be busy, not just for me, but for all the top tennis players. There will be little room for rest after Wimbledon."
"The goals are the Grand Slams and the Olympics, because they are so rare. I had the honor of winning a bronze medal in 2008 and somehow feel that maybe the time has come for another medal, I hope. I will do everything in my power to reach the peak at the Olympics," said Novak.
Djokovic now goes to the tournament in Dubai and then to Indian Wells and Miami.
"Each tournament is important, I grew up that way, I always take every tournament seriously, I don't underestimate any tournament for being from a lower category. I never sit back, I'd rather not play than play with half my strength."
"The fact is that the biggest goals are the Grand Slams, but I use every match to move forward, to be an even better version of myself."
"It's not just a phrase and I think I can make progress every day. Each tournament brings some new challenges, I look forward to Dubai, playing singles and doubles. Indian Wells and Miami are an opportunity for new points because I have not had outstanding results there in the last few years and I want to surpass myself and those results," said Djokovic.
