Stanika's family wants original footage, justice and truth: Doljevac accident trial continues

The accident occurred on January 31, 2019. One woman died, five others were injured

Original footage of the accident, justice and truth is what the family of the victim, Stanika Gligorijevic, want - as do those who were injured in the crash. The son-in-law and sister of the woman who died testified today about the accident that occurred on January 31, 2019 at the Doljevac toll booth, which involved Dejan Stanojevic, the driver of the former Koridori Srbije (Corridors of Serbia) company Director Zoran Babic, who was in the back seat at the time.

Babic himself today appeared for the first time at the trial, held in the city of Nis; however, what the defense presented did not satisfy either the family of the victim nor the other persons injured in the accident.

"We were unconscious then. We have no idea who the culprit is, so we are asking for the original footage," said Stanika's son-in-law Srdjan.

Others also insisted that this video be shown at the trial.

"What was shown today is not the original footage. That is located in Belgrade. Since I was in a coma, I don't know what happened. I want the original footage, justice, and truth. Nobody called me during all this time, to ask if I needed help with my medical treatment. Nobody, nobody, nobody," said Stanika's sister Mirjana Aleksic.

According to the indictment, the accident occurred when Stanojevic, while driving a Skoda Superb at 93 kilometers per hour, crashed into an Opel Astra which had stopped at the toll booth, causing the car to bounce and hit the rear of a Volkswagen Passat that was leaving the booth.
