Vucic meets with officials on Davos Forum sidelines: We will invite businessmen to invest in Serbia

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who is in Davos for the World Economic Forum, WEF, has had a series of meetings with world officials, including European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen, President of the World Economic Forum Borge Brende, and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic.

He will also participate in a working lunch with the topic, "Generating Growth for Central and Eastern Europe," have a number of bilateral meetings, and attend an addressby US President Donald Trump.

Vucic met with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic today to discuss Serbia-Croatia relations.

Yesterday, before the official opening ceremony of the World Economic Forum, the president of Serbia held talks with a number of officials, including European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen and President of the World Economic Forum Borge Brende.

In addition to posting photographs from his meetings with foreign officials, he stressed that it was very important for Serbia to be present in Davos and to be well represented.

"Here at Davos we have the opportunity to talk about our investment environment, the results we have achieved, one of the highest growth rates in all of Europe and to invite businessmen to invest in Serbia, to improve the standard and quality of life of our citizens and to see what are the next moves we have to make," said a caption to a photo showing Vucic with Von der Leyen.

Next to a photo with Brende, Vucic wrote: "Friendly talks before the opening of the World Economic Forum."

Also on Instagram, the president of Serbia thanked World Economic Forum founder and CEO Klaus Schwab for his support and regular invitations to attend the event.

"Thank you for the support and  for regular invitations to participate in the World Economic Forum," says the caption next to a photo of Vucic with Klaus Schwab.

"The World Economic Forum in Davos is a great place where you can hear a lot in a short amount of time, make important contacts, but also meet up with old friends," he said after meeting with Armenian President Armen Sarkissian.

Today, the President of Serbia will speak before world officials and forum participants about how he sees the future, about the "Little Schengen" initiative, economic cooperation and other issues.
