"For Serbia, Taiwan is part of China": Vucic sends letter to Xi Jinping

The Republic of Serbia opposes Taiwan's independence and condemns any attempt to jeopardize the unity of the People's Republic of China and the results of your policy, which is based on sound principles of peace and stability - said Vucic

President Aleksandar Vucic has sent a letter to President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping stating that as far as the Republic of Serbia is concerned, Taiwan is, and will remain an integral part of the People's Republic of China.

"The Republic of Serbia strongly supports the preservation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the People's Republic of China, absolutely supporting the 'One China' policy and the Chinese side's efforts towards a peaceful unification of the country," Vucic said in the letter.

He at the same time stressed that "for the Republic of Serbia, Taiwan is and will continue to be an integral part of the People's Republic of China," the Serbian Presidency has announced.

"The Republic of Serbia opposes Taiwan's independence and condemns any attempt to jeopardize the unity of the People's Republic of China and the results of your policy, which is based on sound principles of peace and stability," added Vucic.

He thanked China for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia and for helping to defend our state and national interests in international organizations.

"Further improvement of the steely friendship between the Republic of Serbia and the People's Republic of China, as well as deepening of comprehensive strategic partnership and cooperation in all fields, is and will continue to be one of the most important priorities of the Serbian state leadership and my policy as president. That is why I am looking forward to your visit," said Vucic's letter.
