Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic met with US Ambassador Anthony Godfrey yesterday. Mutual readiness to improve bilateral cooperation and strengthen relations between the two countries through the strengthening of constructive and dynamic political dialogue was expressed during the meeting.

Proceeding from President Donald Trump's address on Wednesday, Ambassador Godfrey informed Minister Dacic about the current situation in the Middle East and outlined the views of the United States on the current crisis in relations with Iran.

The head of diplomacy stressed that Serbia supports peaceful settlement of disputes through dialogue and expressed the expectation that tensions would decrease in the coming days, stressing that Serbia condemns the attack on the US embassy in Baghdad that took place on December 31, 2019, advocating for principled respect of the inviolability of all diplomatic missions and consular posts in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
