"Serbia considers you as a true friend," said the president of Serbia
President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic last night congratulated Austrian writer Peter Handke, this year's winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature.
"Dear friend, receive my sincere congratulations. As a Nobel Prize laureate, you have inscribed your name among the immortals. This award is an award for your outstanding literary work, for your knowledge and creativity, but also for your indisputable moral qualities, for courage and dignity, with which you fight for your ideals as a top intellectual," said Vucic in his message of congratulations to Handke.
"Serbia considers you as a true friend and, I will take the liberty to say, we perceive your Nobel Prize as if it has been won by one of us. Now, along with Ivo Andric, we are celebrating another of our Nobel Prize winners," said the president of Serbia.
"I hope, my dear friend, that you will visit Serbia soon," states the message of congratulations of President Vucic to the Austrian writer, on the occasion of the ceremony where he is due to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature.
