Lawyer Gashi sues Vucic for "denying Racak crime"
He adds that the criminal complaint against Vucic is now in the hands of the Special Prosecutor's Office, which will decide on further steps
A criminal complaint has been filed against Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, before the Special Prosecution in Pristina - "for denying the crimes and the massacre in Racak," lawyer Tom Gashi has confirmed for Kosovo Online.
Gashi explains that he was the legal representative of Kosovo Albanian families when former Serbian police officer Zoran Stojanovic was found guilty of the crime of murder and attempted murder by the Pristina District Court, which was then mostly made up of UNMIK judges, and that he filed a lawsuit on their behalf.
"He was convicted of the Racak massacre on January 15, 1999. Former (Kosovo government) Minister Todosijevic was also found guilty yesterday, and President Vucic said Racak was invented by Albanian terrorists, that the massacre never happened. He thereby committed the crime of inciting national hatred," says Gashi.
He added that the criminal complaint against Vucic is now in the hands of the Special Prosecution that will decide on further steps.
"From this moment on, Aleksandar Vucic has a criminal complaint filed against him with the Kosovo Prosecutor's Office," Gashi said.
