Customs notice a Belgrader at X-ray control. 40 small treasures were found inside his suitcase

On October 21 customs officers seized about 40 items at the Nikola Tesla Airport that are believed to have artistic and even value as antiques. These include jade figurines, brass candlesticks, dishes, jewelry boxes, a clock, Persian rugs and several art paintings.

A 75-year-old Belgrade man who arrived from Brussels accompanied by a 51-year-old Bulgarian woman was sopped at the green checkpoint with a suitcase full of these items.

After checking their luggage with an X-ray machine, a large number of items of various shapes were spotted in one of the suitcases, and passengers were asked to open it.

The officers found a dozen jade figurines representing animals and birds, an old clock, several brass candlesticks, jewelry boxes and other small items, trays, a coffee pot, coasters and two smaller Persian rugs.

In addition, passengers carried art paintings wrapped in nylon.

The Ministry of Interior recalls that although no special permit or approval is required to bring works of art into our country, they must be declared, as well as any other goods imported into the country.
