Mihajlovic: Kurti is looking for an excuse to postpone negotiations with Belgrade

"Instead of taking responsibility and returning the Albanian side to the dialogue, Kurti is pretending that everything starts with him," said Mihajlovic

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Zorana Mihajlovic assessed today that the leader of the Self-Determination Movement and the candidate for the prime minister of the provisional institutions in Pristina, Albin Kurti, was merely looking for an excuse to delay the continuation of talks with Belgrade when he said that the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO) was "dead."

"The ZSO is not some Serbian project, but an agreement between Belgrade and Pristina reached under the auspices of the European Union, just as Pristina introducing taxes (on Serbian goods) was a unilateral move condemned by the whole world," said Mihajlovic.

According to a statement from her cabinet, Mihajlovic, who is also a senior official of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), said it was high time for Albanian politicians from Kosovo to take responsibility for the signed agreements between Belgrade and Pristina, to start implementing them and to return to the dialogue.

She also assessed that "with each new Kosovo government trying to take the dialogue back to the beginning, they (Kosovo Albanians) don't show mutual disagreements, but on the contrary, they are constantly working to chase the Serbs out of Kosovo."

"Instead of taking responsibility and returning the Albanian side to the dialogue, Kurti is pretending that everything starts with him and that he is not interested in the agreements signed by his predecessors. It just goes to show that there are actually no conditions for dialogue, because there is no other side with which Belgrade would hold talks," Mihajlovic concluded.
