Terzic after chaos at Jarinje: Victory! Kosovo authorities proved they don't respect FIFA and UEFA

General Manager of the Red Star football club stressed "a great diplomatic victory of Serbia"

A Red Star delegation and football players were not allowed to cross into Kosovo via Jarinje  today and play the Cup of Serbia match against Trepca. Terzic commented on the return of the expedition and the events and the ban by the "Kosovo authorities."

He stressed his great dissatisfaction with the Kosovo authorities' gesture, as Serbs in Kosovska Mitrovica have been denied seeing a match between the two teams.

"We are all witnesses to what happened, we came only to play football and do sports. Despite FIFA's decision that the match should be played in Kosovo, Kosovo institutions banned the match. I was at the head of the convoy, I asked them why we were prevented from entering. When I asked why, they told us it was a decision of the Kosovo authorities. I am sorry that people here have been denied a major sporting event. Kosovo institutions have shown that this was only a farce and a lie. Although they asked to join FIFA and UEFA, they proved that they don't respect anything," Terzic said, and added:

"Various information was arriving, but it was our job to come and play. Because we had FIFA's letter that made a clear recommendation that the match should be played in Kosovska Mitrovica. We are all aware that Trepca is playing its matches there and there was no reason not to play this one there."

He added that Kosovo's institutions did not comply with the proposals they officially received from FIFA.

"This is a big diplomatic victory for Red Star and the Serbian Football Association, we received support from FIFA, while everything they said has been proven to be a lie, that is why we published the document we received from FIFA."
