Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said today that she intends to join the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) for, as she said, many reasons.

"I intend to join the SNS, for many reasons, which I will explain when I do it," Brnabic told reporters when asked if she would join the SNS.

A few days ago, some media reported that Brnabic would join the party on October 21, the 11th anniversary of the founding of the SNS.

"WE ARE ALWAYS READY FOR GOVERNMENT RECONSTRUCTION"

We are always ready for a reconstruction of the government, and this is not a taboo in my cabinet, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said today, adding that she would ask her ministers to, in the last six months of the government's term, further accelerate and finish the projects they have started and launch new ones that have been planned.

Brnabic said that she was not running away from the topic of a government reshuffle, which, she said, was always open, adding that President Aleksandar Vucic had not been running away from it, either, while he served as the prime minister.

"We are always ready for a reconstruction, those not doing the best they can, those who got tired, who slowed down...," Brnabic told reporters.

"As we go into the last six months of this government, I would like to say that I will pay great attention to how we perform as a government," said the prime minister.

She added that the topic of reconstruction was "frozen" in mid-2018 due to the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, when relations in the southern Serbian province became more difficult than usual.

"Serbia at that moment couldn't afford any other instability," Brnabic emphasized.

Brnabic said that before she got into politics, while she was still working in the private sector, she had the opportunity to see previous governments slow down in the last six months of their term, that ministers were not doing enough, that everyone was campaigning and waiting to see if they would keep their jobs.

"My government will accelerate during the last six months to complete projects. Until the last day everyone will have to be doing their best. The campaign is to be conducted after working hours, during working hours everyone has to give 100 percent," said Brnabic.

Citizens, she said, must not be kept waiting because of elections.
