"New measures and proposals will be presented to the members of the government this week," said Stefanovic

Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Working Group for Cooperation with the OSCE and ODIHR Nebojsa Stefanovic announced today another package of measures to improve the electoral process, an initiative to amend some laws and a proposal for a parliamentary debate on REM, the electronic media regulator.

"New measures and proposals will be presented to the government members this week," Stefanovic told Tanjug.

The package of new measures relates to the transparency of the electoral process with the goal of better informing citizens about their electoral rights and protection of those rights, as well as further training of the members of the polling station committees, and improvement of the electoral roll.

Stefanovic stated that the government will also be asked to initiate the process of amending the Law on the Anti-Corruption Agency, the Law on Financing of Political Activities, and the Law on Public Enterprises.

"Also, we will initiate a debate in the Serbian Assembly on the work of REM," said Nebojsa Stefanovic.

The government on Monday adopted a conclusion pointing out to the obligation to comply with Article 29 of the Law on the Anti-Corruption Agency to all members of the government, secretaries of state, directors of special organizations, directors of government services and all other civil servants in office, directors and other executives in public enterprises and public institutions, officials in territorial autonomy and local self-government bodies.
