Thank you for supporting Serbia on EU path: Vucic meets with Mitsotakis in New York
The meeting with Mitsotakis is one in a series of bilateral meetings the president of Serbia will have during his visit to the United States, where he has traveled for the 74th session of the UN General Assembly
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met in New York around midnight Central European Time with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, their first meeting since Mitsotakis was elected as head of government.
The meeting with Mitsotakis is one in a series of bilateral meetings the president of Serbia will have during his visit to the United States, where he has traveled for the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.
The president also spoke about this meeting on the Instagram profile @buducnostsrbijeav, where he thanked Mitsotakis and the Greek people for the support they provide to Serbia on the European path, but also for supporting the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
"The Serb and the Greek people are bound by a sincere friendship. Thanks for the support you are giving to Serbia on the European path, as well as for supporting the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina," the post reads.
He also said his plea was that Greece would not change its position on the Kosovo issue.
"My plea is that Greece does not change its position on the non-recognition of Kosovo's self-proclaimed independence because that is crucial for Serbia," Vucic concluded.
