Vucic with Botsan-Kharchenko: Medvedev to attend celebration of Belgrade's liberation in WW2?

The president of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, received today the ambassador of the Russian Federation, Aleksandr Botsan Kharchenko, with whom he discussed organizing the marking of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade during the Second World War, the Office for Cooperation with the Media of the President of the Republic announced.

President Vucic said this was another opportunity to highlight the freedom loving traditions of the two brotherly peoples.

"Our joint struggle on the side of law and justice obligates us to, with eternal gratitude, preserve the memory of those glorious days," said President Vucic.

The two interlocutors expressed their expectation that a high ranking official of the Russian Federation would attend the celebration in Belgrade, and in connection with this discussed bilateral documents which could be signed on that occasion, that would mark another step in expanding the cooperation between the two countries.

President Vucic sent his greetings to President Putin, as well as to Prime Minister Medvedev and Foreign Minister Lavrov, a statement said.

In recent days, it was reported that it would be precisely Medvedev who will attend the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of Belgrade's liberation in the Second World War.
