A dozen fires are have been raging for days in several regions of Northern Macedonia where firefighters and volunteers have been working to put the fires under control.

The police arrested two persons for planting fires in the open, reports AP.

In the eastern parts of Northern Macedonia, the citizens have been evacuated due to large scale fires, in the village Faris the fire has caught vineyards, and the fires are threatening the houses and churches, reports the Macedonian portal Plusinfo.

Due to the fires, the government of the Republic of Northern Macedonia introduced a 24-hour ban on movement in forests and forest areas.

The firefighters of the Territorial anti-fire unit in Kavadarci are putting maximum efforts in order to put out the fires.

The fires in the village Rosoman already caught the church and cemetery, and they are approaching the first houses in the village.

Also, there are fires in Prespa region, the tourist locations Otesevo and Sirhan caught great fire, as well as the part of the Macedonian national park Galicica.

The fire caught around 300 hectares of forests, orchards, and reed around the lake coast.
