Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met today with political representatives of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija (KiM) and the most important institutions of the Republic of Serbia.

Talks on an agreement between Pristina and Belgrade are not conducted in secret: Thaci's advisor spoke

The meeting with the President was attended by more than 130 representatives of the Serbs from KiM, led by the President of the Serbian List Goran Rakic, as well as Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric.

The Serbian President said that Serbia is in an extremely difficult situation, especially due to taxes imposed and threats to our people in Kosovo.

- The meeting was held, it was surprisingly difficult for me because there are things that happened in the last 24 hours and which no one in Serbia knows. Serbs in KiM are in an extremely difficult situation, as they were in 2008, 2004 and years before. The situation is terrible, almost desperate. Last night, Albanian policemen entered Zubin Potok and took the truck to one Serbian carrier because it imported goods through a green line. This caused enormous anger among our people, and after numerous requests sent from Belgrade, our people retreated to their homes and avoided incidents - said Vucic.

He said that, if Pristina continues with this behavior, Serbia will be in a hopeless situation.

- In the next two days, Trepca's new statute is expected to be adopted, they want to block the account, destroy Trepca in northern Mitrovica to Bijelo Brdo, and this would mean that 2,400 will lose their jobs - Vucic said.

Also, as he said, the unification of northern and southern Mitrovica is a direct threat, and many say, that if it happens, can only happen with violence.

- Once again, I urge Serbs not to join the so-called Kosovo Army, and I will continue to discuss with the Government of Serbia what we will do in the future. We are left on our own - he said, referring to Ramush Haradinaj's statement on the growing number of Serbs joining the "Kosovo Army".

- Accordingly, the representatives of the Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija requested the withdrawal from all Kosovo institutions, from local self-government, through the police, the prosecution... I asked them not to respond to them today, and in the next month and a half, I will talk to everyone about it. I asked them to wait for the answer because if such offensive action continues, we are in a hopeless situation - Vucic said.

He said that in the next 45 days, he would reply to Serbs from Kosovo who asked for withdrawal from all Kosovo institutions.

- I attend a large number of meetings on the solution of the Kosovo issue. Serbia is not close to solving the Kosovo-Metohija problem. Every day there is a stronger pressure on the Serbs, now these people suffer the economic consequences of these taxes. There are fewer goods from Central Serbia. For several months they have been struggling to acquire products, now the shortage begins and this has a negative effect on the economy - said Djuric.

The President of Serbia announced that he will discuss with the Government of Serbia on Sunday about a series of messages that Belgrade received from European and world countries in the past days.

- We will talk about Serbia's platform for the future. If Serbia fulfills all obligations from Brussels agreement, and Pristina none, and then they are the one who introduced 100% taxes, then the question emerges if Serbia's policy is responsible - said Vucic.
