Legendary singer of folk music Saban Saulic, who tragically lost his life in Germany, will be buried in the Alley of meritorious citizens in New Cemetery in Belgrade and he will rest next to the actor Nebojsa Glogovac.
The director of the Public communal company revealed that the employees are preparing for the funeral of the man who marked not just the folk music, but also the Serbian culture in general, but they are waiting for the family Saulic to give more precise details of the funeral.
Namely, the burials in the Alley are approved by the service of the Belgrade Mayor's Protocol and regulated by the City Decree on the arrangement and maintenance of the graveyard and burial. Baltovski explains that based on the mentioned decision, only the people who have the greatest decorations of the Republic of Serbia, members of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and honorary citizens of Belgrade can be buried at this cemetery, writes Politika.
- The mayor of Belgrade has the right to decide about the place for burying a person in exceptional circumstances if he estimates that the person had a significant contribution to the culture and public life of the city and the republic in their own area of expertise, and if they don't belong to the mentioned categories - explains Baltovski, adding that 741 people are resting in the Alley.
