Scientists worried, great El Nino brings a drastic change in Serbian weather: Everybody fears from the upcoming winter, and we what we can expect (PHOTO)

The global climate phenomenon "El Nino", which was created by air currents above the Pacific Ocean, will bring Serbia a very warm winter, and meteorologists predict that we will have the New Year and Christmas holidays without snow.

"El Nino" will cause cataclysms around the world and will disturb the climate. It is a natural climate pattern that is defined as an unusually warm sea current in the Pacific Ocean.

This means that it will bring mild winter to Serbia and many days with temperatures above zero. There won't be much snow, and even when if it snows, it won't stay for long due to high temperatures.

This phenomenon wasn't supposed to appear for several years, but it is now evident that climate change and global warming took their toll. That's why experts warn that Serbs won't have sharp and cold winters as we did before.

That is why meteorologists say that if "El Nino" forms, we will welcome New Year and Christmass without snow and temperatures below zero.

Scientists gave 75% chance in September that it will form, and the chances grew during October, reports Time. The thing that scares them the most is that "El Nino" came earlier.

It appears every six to eight years, and the last time it formed was in 2015, and it lasted until half of 2016, it was strongest ever. Scientists presume that the period between the two "El Ninos" is drastically reduced due to climate changes on the planet in recent years. One of the causes could be global warming and it will bring milder winters to Serbia in the coming years.

"El Nino" will cause a drastic change of weather all over the world, but meteorologists say that the consequences in Serbia will be harmless.

The facts that we have daily temperatures in November above 20 degrees are the proof of that, and it is forecast that the following month will be milder than the same one last year.

January 2019 will be warmer than usual, the average minimal and maximum temperature will be above the annual average, by about 0.8 to 1.5 degrees.
