A large oil spill has not yet arrived in Serbia: Sava river is carrying black death, the situation is monitored daily, all services are on standby

If that scenario occurs, the nets would catch 95% of oil, and the rest would be cleaned chemically

The oil spill detected on the Sava River after an explosion at the Refinery in Bosanski Brod has not yet reached Serbia, and all the relevant services monitor the situation and are ready to remove it if it occurs, said the director of the public company "Srbijavode" Goran Puzovic.

A terrible explosion in a refinery in Bosanski Brod claimed one life: A worker was found who died, he couldn't be saved

While he was a guest on TV Prva, he said that the competent services are technologically equipped, that the monitoring is done by the most modern means and that if the spill is detected in Serbia, the equipment will be placed to gather and to safely remove it.

- The situation is being monitored in the case if the oil spill reaches Serbia and if it does we have the equipment: nets for catching the spill, cleaning devices, but we don't expect that it will reach us - Puzovic said.

If that scenario occurs, the nets would catch 95% of oil, and the rest would be cleaned chemically.

- We are prepared and we take necessary precautions, so far the spill wasn't detected in Serbia and we are prepared to stop it if it shows up - Puzovic said.
