Montenegrins caught the "beast" that was roaming the Adriatic sea: It looks like a shark, it waggled its tail, it dazes and eats fish, but not humans (PHOTO)
Common thresher is protected by law and it is marked as vulnerable on the Red List of endangered species
A heartbreaking story appeared on the page Mini Eco Zone on Facebook about the Common thresher in Montenegro, which is protected by law and which was killed by locals who thought that it is a dangerous shark.
- The notorious shark that "hunts" over Montenegro was captured today. Common thresher is protected by law and it is marked as vulnerable on the Red List of endangered species. It is completely harmless to people. No attacks were ever recorded. It feeds by swinging in a school of fish, it waggles its tail to dazzle them and then it eats them - it is stated.
- We are sad, angry, and disappointed - it is added.
SHARKS DON'T KILL AS MUCH AS SPEED BOATS
It is stated in one of the comments that the fish was photographed in one restaurant, but it wasn't stated where exactly. While some feel sorry for the animal, the others weren't because "I wonder how would you behave if your child was in the water and this thing starts swimming around it", and they are not blaming the fisherman.
A data was released that no deadly cases of a shark attack in the Adriatic happened in the last 40 years and that more than 150 people died from speedboats and jet skis.
